Escape

Finally I break the igloo
of heat
the bubble of the beyond
within the ribcage
between torrents
of advertising copy.

Close your eyes and I'll let you feel
a kiss between the shoulder-blades. Reach up on your toes and
you'll see a shadow. Just a matter of time.

What if you came from the beyond
of the beyond
and christened my gloom
and left for the beyond?

Here I am,
vast as a desert
and as sprinkled with sand
and footprints of wayfarers.

Death is an oasis
scorched in the heat
of the cold.

Let

me

sleep.

Loved the picture. Dont understand your morbid fascination for death though.

Is the central idea to deconstruct the notion with death and replace it with a more mature idea ? Jus curious :)

@ Tinker: I used to be scared of deserts and ships as a child!
@ Sowmya: Picture is of Ammu running through the corridors of Sophia's in Mumbai. Death, and its fascination, are temporary phases for me :)
@ Vinutha: Death is a turnstile... it takes you along, and often drops you back where you started!
@ All: Thanks!

I really liked the last line..the whole idea gives me a feeling of turning my back on everything that hurts and run away..
